Parents….. Do you worry about your childs safety while away at college?
Community United Methodist Church, in conjunction with Applied Therapies is pleased to be offering Response to Sexual Violence Awareness training for new incoming College Freshman, and High School Juniors & Seniors. Parents are Welcome! FREE (MUST PRE REGISTER)
Class will be held at Community United Methodist Church from 9a.m. – 5p.m. Enter thru Door C
There will be an hour break for lunch. The church will supply a light lunch, or you can supply your own.
Subjects to be covered, but not limited to:
*Being Aware of Surroundings
*What to Expect as a new college student
*What to do if attacked
*Should you Fight/Submit/Escape
*Fight or Flight
*Understanding the Sex Offender/Methods of Attack
*Escape and Evasion Techniques
*Hand/Knee & Elbow Strikes
*Ground confrontations/Ground Defenses
*How to escape if pinned to the ground
And much more.
Wear comfortable clothes….. sweats, gym/training clothes, etc.
Training will be conducted by Rick Seeds AT NO COST. Rick has been involved in Self-Defense and Martial Arts training for 30 years and holds a rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in Tokoshikan Aikijitsu and 2nd Degree Black Belt in Shingitai Goshin-Jitsu. He also taught Self-Defense for the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for over 20 years.
